A full suit of plate armor weighed around 20–25 kg (45–55 lb), similar to modern military gear, but the weight was evenly distributed across the body, not hanging from the shoulders. The plates were articulated and overlapping, with flexible joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. This allowed knights to run, kneel, roll, mount horses, and fight on foot. Trained fighters could get up
