Basil the green tree monitor lizard (Varanus prasinus) has come a long way in his taming! As you can see here, I am feeding him some canned grasshoppers (he LOVES them)! When food is out of reach tree monitors possess a unique set of skills they can use to get to food in hard to reach places. One of them is to rise up and stand on their two hind legs.
