The Partial Sums Method - Maths with Mum

Is this better or worse than the traditional method? Partial Sums sure does look different, and seems to take more work than how we learned it. We traditionally learned to add by “carrying” the one if our sum in any column was larger than 9. This method bypasses that. When we have a sum larger than 9, we just write the answer and make sure that everything is lined up in the correct column.
