‘Trumpeter’s Prayer’ originally played by Conrad Gozzo on Tutti’s Trumpets. I love warming up with this piece. Leaving the stylistic benefits aside, it gets me really focusing on the ‘sound between the notes’ and making each note change as smooth as possible. The tune is in a key that uses lots of valves and the note changes can be across the grain.
